Greetings from the Pete
Lopiccola Memorial Marlin Tournament. We wanted to alert you that a group
including one ex-board member has affiliated with the Bisbee Tournament. They
call themselves the Lopiccola Billfish Tournament but also use the "For
Pete's Sake" name. Our board voted not to affiliate with the Bisbee for a
variety of reasons. Indeed, the vote was one short of unanimous.

Marlin Tournament does not recommend or endorse this new tournament. We suggest
you investigate for yourselves and make your own decision to participate.
On a brighter note, this
summer proceeds from our last tournament have paid for a new copy machine at
Los Ninos de Capitan. Last Saturday we delivered seven air conditioners to
Escuela Juan Perin Castillo, which helps 90 severely handicapped children. The
air conditioners will help the students, some of whom have been convulsing
because of the heat. Please note these donations are in addition to $40,000 for
a new Lopiccola Fellow at the Cancer Center, $10,000 to Los Ninos de Capitan
and helping Minerva Smith with several sick children.
